They were from different hometowns. Working in the same area while on service missions for their church. Later attending the same university upon their return. Seemingly unrelated decisions that gave them the opportunity to meet, get to know one another, and then later reconnect. How often do our choices (either big or small) stack on each other leading us to be in the right time at the right place? Those moments where we cross paths with those who turn into our favorite coworkers, our best friends, or our spouse. I often like to reflect back on my life and try to find the crossroads in my life. Small choices and decisions that lead me down a path to some of my biggest blessings and my favorite people.
I loved getting to hear a little bit more about Rachel and Justin’s story. The choices they made that brought them each other and the choices that they’re making now as they begin their lives together. We spent a fun and joyful evening together. Laughing and celebrating them as they get ready to begin this new chapter together.
The engagement session
We began their summer engagement session at Daybreak where we walked and laughed as they quickly leveled up through all of my posing. When we began Justin asked me how many levels there were. I didn’t know, and I don’t think we ever found out. An hour later we stood in the middle of a field overlooking the entire valley. The sun ready to dip behind the mountains casting a final soft glow to everything it touched. I knew that it didn’t matter how many levels there were, we had gotten to the best ones.
Rachel and Justin, I had so much fun with you guys! I definitely went home with sore cheeks from all the laughing. Thank you for trusting me and rushing to a second location where I knew the lighting was going to be just right. I can’t wait to see where the choices you’re making now will lead you both. Together. Your summer engagement session is as wonderful as you both are.
