I was so excited when Devery wanted to go to Saltair for her portrait session! At an hour’s drive each way I knew it wasn’t going to be exactly convenient for her, but I did know that it would be magical. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! As soon as I got out of my car I was greeted by a gathering of powered paragliders. Taking off, landing, and flying high above. Seeing them soar effortlessly high above only added to my excitement of the unique architecture and white sand stretching out to the sunset. Going to the beautiful Saltair is always among my favorites for portrait, couples, and engagement sessions!
Walking around we watched the paragliders and families walking out to the water. (Which is really far out there this year!). We laughed to see a dog running away with great delight. Clearly, he did not want to be included in the family pictures this year.
The days leading up to our session were cold and rainy, and snow was set to come through with a storm the following day. I was super excited to find the weather perfectly warm and sunny when we arrived. We were even able to get some gorgeous glow as the sun set over the western mountains. It was a surprise that made the evening perfect. These are the type of sessions I dream for as a photographer!
Devery, thank you for being willing to travel somewhere new and spending one of the last (and few) gorgeous fall evenings of the year with me! Your smile is infectious and I am so thrilled to hang out with you every chance I get. My years in the symphony orchestra would not be the same without you!
