You decide you want photos to remember this season of life.

Preparing to graduate.
Proposing to your best friend.
Planning your wedding.
Celebrating years of building a life together.

It feels exciting at first. Something worth preserving.

Then the questions start.

“I’m not a model.”
“What am I supposed to wear?”
“What do people even do during a photo session?”
“What if I do it wrong?”

If your mind has ever gone there, you are not alone. Almost every client I work with has had those same thoughts at some point. Many of them simply want to know what to expect before their photo session.

Before you let that spiral take over, let me show you exactly what I walk my clients through before every session.

Because when you know what to expect, everything starts to feel more natural

When You Reach Out

When you first reach out you will receive an email from me with a few simple questions.

Some of them help with logistics. What you are celebrating, if you have a specific date in mind, and anything important I should know.

But I also use that conversation to get to know you.

If someone is going to spend your entire wedding day with you, or help document a meaningful season of life, it should feel like a friend beside you, not a stranger holding a camera.

I love hearing what you’re studying, what comes next after graduation, adn what you enjoy doing in your free time. I love hearing how couples met, how the proposal happened, and what you are most excited about for your wedding day.

These conversations matter because your photos should reflect your life, not a generic version of someone else’s.

Once You’re Booked

Once you’re officially on my calendar, you are not left to figure everything out alone.

This is where preparation really begins.

I send a guide that walks you through the questions almost everyone has before their session. How to choose a location. What colors photograph beautifully. How to coordinate outfits without looking overly matched. Even simple reminders so nothing gets forgotten.

Wardrobe is one of the biggest stress points for most people. Instead of guessing the night before your session, we walk through those decisions ahead of time so you can feel confident about what you’re wearing.

For weddings, preparation also includes creating a custom timeline that protects the moments that matter most. Your day should never feel rushed or chaotic simply because no one helped you plan the flow of it.

You’ll also receive a questionnaire where you can share what matters most to you. What you’re excited about. What might make you nervous. Who may need extra time. What you never want forgotten.

Preparation removes the mental noise. When you know what to expect before your photo session, you don’t spend the entire time wondering what happens next.

You can simply be present.

How Preparation Makes Photo Sessions Feel Natural

What To Expect at Your Photo Session

Before we ever take a photo, we take a moment to settle in and catch up.

I remind you that you have already done everything you needed to prepare. Now you don’t have to worry about anything else.

All you need to do is relax, enjoy each other, and have fun.

I’ll also remind you that if you feel. nervous, that is completely normal. Most people feel that way at the beginning of a session because they want to do a good job.

I’ll guide you the entire time so you’re never left wondering what to do next. For a few minutes standing in front of a camera might feel unfamiliar, but that feeling fades quickly.

We talk. We laugh. You start focusing on each other instead of the camera.

And before long, it starts to feel natural.

You Don’t Have to Be Photogenic to Love Your Photos

Why This Matters

Photos are not about performing perfectly.

They are about remembering this season of life as it actually felt.

Preparation allows you to walk into your session feeling confident instead of unsure, because you already know what to expect before your photo session. It gives you the freedom to relax and simply be yourself.

And when that happens, the photos flow naturally.
