Five Reasons to Schedule a Couples Session

Couples sessions are some of my favorites to photograph. People often wonder who these types of session are for, so today I’m sharing five reasons to schedule a couples session.

1. Your relationship should be celebrated, no matter what stage you’re in

Most people generally think of engagement and wedding photos as the only time you get professional photographs taken as a couple, but that’s not true. Your relationship is worthy of being celebrated, no matter what stage you’re in. Whether you’ve been together one year, 50 years, or anywhere in between. Your connection and story is unique and deserves to be captured.

2: It gives you an opportunity to reconnect

How often do you date your spouse? Work, hobbies, kids, activities, and extended family all vie for our time. How much time are you giving yourself to disconnect and focus on each other? Do you hang out on the couch after a long day and call it good? Or do you take the opportunity to go out on a proper date together? Scheduling a session gives you a reason to dress up, go out together, and reconnect with who you are as a couple.

3: It gives you an opportunity to laugh together

Think back to when you were dating. I am willing to bet that the memories you look back on most fondly involve you smiling and laughing with each other. Over time, the realities and responsibilities of life can make it difficult at times to relax and laugh together. A couples session is all about laughter and enjoying being together. Make new memories and laugh about the great times you’ve been through.

4: An opportunity to explore someplace new or go somewhere special

Use your session to check out a new place you’ve always wanted to visit together. There’s so many gorgeous little known gems all around our state to explore. Alternatively, you may want to choose a location that has special meaning to you.

Printing your updated images will bless your family now and in the future. Fill your walls with images of you together as a couple and a family. These are the images your children and grandchildren will remember and look back on fondly for years to come.
