Before this family was a family of six, it started with just two people who chose each other. That is what stood out to me most during this session at Daybreak Lake. The way the Evans couple laughed and leaned into each other set the tone for the whole evening. Their playfulness overflowed into their kids, and their love showed up in the way their family interacts.
As they prepare for big milestones like graduations and college, it is clear that everything rests on the foundation they’ve built together.
Photographing them all together reminded me that every stage matters. Right now they are soaking up time as a family of six, and these photos capture who they are before the next chapter begins.
The evening itself was beautiful, with cattails swaying in the breeze and the rain holding off just long enough for us to finish. Photographing siblings, parents, and everyone together – each relationship reflecting its own joy – was an honor.
Watching them laugh and lean into each other reminded me once again that photos matter. They give us the chance to pause, to celebrate who we are right now, before life shifts into something new. That is the kind of legacy worth holding onto.
