I saw a quote recently that said, “There are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family.” Few people in my life have personified this more than these two and their family. I’ve known them my entire life, and I was honored to capture a couples photography session with them.
As we were preparing for their session, it came up that they always try hard to follow directions but can get a little snarky. I had to laugh, because I appreciate their sense of humor. And they know I’ll always give it right back!
Even though being in front of the camera can feel uncomfortable, I knew they’d have no trouble relaxing. Their teasing, laughter, and quick-witted comments to each other created the most genuine smiles. The kind smiles everyone knows them for. The ones that tell their story better than words ever could.
Sessions like this remind me that couples photography isn’t just for newly engaged couples or wedding days. It’s for every stage of life. It’s a way to pause and celebrate the relationship you’ve built. The shared laughter, the comfort of familiarity, and the love that’s deepened through time.
Whether it’s been one year or twenty, your story deserves to be seen and remembered.
